This is the active cultivation, through gentle breathing exercises, of vital life energy or Qi (pronounced chee) that nourishes and sustains all of life. There are many styles of Qi Gong. The most sophisticated and profound styles are those based on Taoist principles of maintaining a dynamically harmonious flow of Qi throughout the body.
