Miss M.S. from Transylvania
60 years old, office clerk, mother & grandmother

How long have you been practicing qigong?
2 years.

How long do you practice for each day?
15 minutes first thing in the morning, everyday.

What are the top 3 health changes you’ve noticed?
  • more energy
  • greater physical strength & suppleness
  • lightness of being

What difference has it made to your wellbeing?
I find that I’m more consistently happy, more patient and can access all the energy I need. It it almost effortless. It’s a very enjoyable practice and gets my day off to a great start both physically and mentally.

There is much more resilience to stress.

There was one time during these 2 years that I got very sick with a stomach bug. However throughout the sickness I never felt drained of energy and was able to overcome it swiftly and returned to normal functioning.

When did you notice these changes?
There were some subtle changes in the first few weeks of practice. After about two months I noticed an increase in energy, strength and suppleness that I’d not experienced in my adult life.

I also the experience of lightness, as if I could fly, I felt when I was a child and on a few accosions, has returned to me.

Any personal insights you can share?
The one thing I’ve noticed that’s very important is having a relaxed focus when practicing qigong. I notice how quickly energy is dispersed and drained I feel when my mind is scattered.

Now I only have to think about the qigong and I feel a wave of energy spreading through my entire body. It’s a lovely and energising feeling.

Any final thoughts you’d like to share?
It’s important who teaches you as much as how and what is taught. Hung’s way of teaching is very kind, skilful and encouraging. These factors have definitely empowered me to practice consistently and methodically. I’m very content with my practice of qigong

For me it is a tool to switch my nervous system from sympathetic to parasympathetic nervous system

Any final thoughts?
I started qigong together with a special diet and acupuncture treatments- which measure had the biggest impact is difficult to say but qigong helped me to stabilise the gained improvements after I stopped acupuncture treatments and the special diet.
